Well I've been fairly organised in my pre-DELTA work. I've bought some books (most but not all written by Scott Thornbury!) and even started reading some of them. I'm taking a greater interest in the various blogs I follow (rather than just getting e-mail updates and deciding that I will read them later) and have dusted off a couple of books I read (or started reading...) for my CELTA.
I've looked on different blogs and websites for support and advice on Module 1. These are the ones I have found most useful so far:
- Cambridge English's DELTA page
- How I got a Distinction in the DELTA module 1 exam
- Reflective Teaching - Useful links for DELTA
- DELTA Course Blog (posts by trainees and tutors)
- Anna's reflections and archive - DELTA Module 1 tips
I have read the past papers (paper 1 and paper 2) on the Cambridge site and believe the terminology and "EFL speak" is probably going to be one of my biggest challenges. Thornbury's An A-Z of ELT is getting a lot of thumbing but there's a lot to learn!
My "optional" pre-course task list has just arrived so let's see how much fear that puts into me!
